ENSURING CREDIT INSTITUTION’S PAYMENT SYSTEMS OPERATE STABLY DURING TET 2024

On June 19, 2023, the National Assembly issued the Price Law 2023 regulating the rights and obligations of agencies, organizations, individuals, and consumers in the field of price and price appraisal; State management and price regulation activities; synthesize, analyze and forecast market prices; price database; valuation; Specialized price inspection, inspection of compliance with price laws, and price appraisal.
PRINCIPLES FOR CHECKING COMPLIANCE WITH POLICIES AND LAWS ON CURRENCY AND BANKING
On December 25, 2023, the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam issued Circular 17/2023/TT-NHNN regulating inspection of compliance with monetary and banking policies and laws.
MONEY TRANSFERS, DEPOSITS, AND WITHDRAWALS FROM E-WALLETS OVER 10 MILLION VND MUST BE BIOMETRICALLY AUTHENTICATED FROM JULY 1, 2024
On December 18, 2023, the Governor of the State Bank issued Decision 2345/QD-NHNN implementing safe and secure solutions in online payments and bank card payments. Accordingly, from July 1, 2024, money transfers, deposits, and withdrawals from e-wallets over 10 million must be biometrically authenticated.
AMENDING REGULATIONS ON RISK COEFFICIENTS FOR RESIDENTIAL MORTAGES LOANS
On December 29, 2023, the Governor of the State Bank issued Circular 22/2023/TT-NHNN amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular 41/2016/TT-NHNN regulating the capital adequacy ratio for with banks and foreign bank branches. According to Circular 22/2023/TT-NHNN, the State Bank has amended the risk coefficient regulations for residential mortgage loans, dividing the risk coefficient into 2 separate types.
