On December 3, 2024, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs issued Notice No. 6150/TB-BLĐTBXH regarding the schedule for the Lunar New Year holiday, National Day holiday, and the holidays for Victory Day and International Labor Day in 2025 for officials, public servants, civil servants, and workers.

Accordingly, officials, public servants, civil servants, and employees of administrative agencies, public service units, political organizations, and socio-political organizations will have the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday from Saturday, January 25, 2025 (26th day of the 12th lunar month, Year of the Dragon) to Sunday, February 2, 2025 (5th day of the 1st lunar month, Year of the Snake). This holiday includes 5 days for the Lunar New Year and 4 weekend days.
Civil servants and public officials will have a break from Saturday, August 30, 2025, to Tuesday, September 2, 2025, including 2 days for the National Day holiday and 2 weekend days.
Civil servants and public officials will have a 5-day consecutive holiday from Wednesday, April 30, 2025, to Sunday, May 4, 2025, due to a workday adjustment. The workday on Friday, May 2, 2025, will be swapped with Saturday, April 26, 2025.
For workers not covered by Clause 1 of Notice No. 6150/TB-BLĐTBXH dated December 3, 2024, employers may determine the holiday schedules for the Lunar New Year, National Day, Victory Day, and International Labor Day in 2025 as follows:
For the Lunar New Year holiday, employers may choose one of the following options: 1 day at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 4 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake, or 2 days at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 3 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake, or 3 days at the end of the Year of the Dragon and 2 days at the beginning of the Year of the Snake.
For the National Day holiday, employers may designate Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and one of the following days: Monday, September 1, 2025, or Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Employers are required to notify employees of the Lunar New Year and National Day holiday schedules at least 30 days in advance.
