Accordingly, in Decree 168/2024/ND-CP, some traffic violations have had their administrative penalties increased to very high levels, specifically:
1. The act of running red or yellow lights
Running red or yellow lights will result in a fine of 18 - 20 million VND for cars (previously 4 - 6 million VND) and 4 - 6 million VND for motorbikes (previously 800,000 - 1000 VND). million VND)
2. The act of driving the vehicle erratically or swinging
Driving a vehicle that swerves or swings will be fined from 40 to 50 million VND for cars (previously from 10 to 12 million VND) and from 8 to 10 million VND for motorbikes (previously from 6 million VND). - 8 million VND)
3. Behavior going in the opposite direction
Going in the opposite direction of a one-way street or on a road with a prohibited sign will result in a fine of between 18 - 20 million VND for cars (previously from 4 - 6 million VND) and from 4 - 6 million VND for motorbikes ( Previously it was from 1 to 2 million VND).
4. The act of opening the car door or leaving the car door open is not safe, causing traffic accidents
Opening the car door or leaving the car door open unsafely causing a traffic accident will result in a fine of 20 - 22 million VND (previously it was from 400,000 - 600,000 VND).
5. Alcohol concentration violations
Violating level 2 alcohol concentration (exceeding 50 milligrams to 80 milligrams/100 milliliters of blood or exceeding 0.25 milligrams to 0.4 milligrams/1 liter of breathing air) will result in a fine of 18 - 20 million VND for drivers. for motorbikes (previously from 16 to 18 million VND) and from 6 to 8 million VND for motorbikes (previously from 4 to 5 million VND).
In particular, if you violate the extreme alcohol concentration level (exceeding 80 milligrams/100 milliliters of blood or exceeding 0.4 milligrams/1 liter of breathing air) on a motorbike, you will be fined from 8 - 10 million VND ( Previously it was from 6 - 8 million VND).
According to the provisions of Article 4 of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP, the statute of limitations for sanctioning administrative violations of traffic order and safety in the field of road traffic is 01 year.
Decree 168/2024/ND-CP takes effect from January 1, 2025.
