Decree 73/2024/NĐ-CP and Conclusion No. 83-KL/TW have decided to increase the basic salary to 2,340,000 VND (effective from July 1, 2024). With this increase, the benefits calculated based on the basic salary will also have a corresponding increase of 30%.

Specifically, the monthly survivorship allowance from July 1, 2024, is changed as follows:
(1) The monthly survivorship allowance for each dependent is 50% of the basic salary (increasing from 900,000 VND/month to 1,170,000 VND/month); in cases where the dependent has no direct caregiver, the monthly survivorship allowance is 70% of the basic salary (increasing from 1,260,000 VND/month to 1,638,000 VND/month).
(2) In the case of a deceased individual who falls under the provisions of Clause 1, Article 67 of the 2014 Social Insurance Law, the number of dependents entitled to the monthly survivorship allowance does not exceed 4 people; if there are 2 or more deceased individuals, the dependents of these individuals are entitled to double the allowance specified in Clause 2, Article 67 of the 2014 Social Insurance Law.
(3) The time for receiving the monthly survivorship allowance is from the month immediately following the month in which the individuals specified in Clauses 1 and 3, Article 66 of the 2014 Social Insurance Law, pass away. If the father dies while the mother is pregnant, the time for the child to receive the monthly survivorship allowance is from the month the child is born.
Thus, with the increase in the basic salary to 2,340,000 VND (effective from July 1, 2024), he monthly survivorship allowance will also increase accordingly, as analyzed by TLK Law above.
Decree No. 73/2024/NĐ-CP is effective from July 1, 2024.
