On April 12, 2024, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs issued Notice 1570/TB-BLDTBXH on the proposal to swap working days for the holidays of Victory Day, April 30, and International Labor Day, May 5 years 2024 for officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of state administrative agencies, public service units and enterprises.

Specifically, in Notice 1570/TB-BLDTBXH, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs provides the official announcement of the 5-day holiday on April 30 and May 1, 2024 as follows:
(1) Officials, civil servants, public employees and employees of state administrative agencies and public service units (hereinafter referred to as civil servants and public employees) are allowed to exchange working days from the next day. Monday (April 29, 2024) to Saturday (May 4, 2024);

(2) Agencies and units implementing the above holiday schedule must arrange appropriate working departments to handle continuous work, ensuring good service to the organization and the people, including keeping The intention is to appoint officials and civil servants to handle sudden and unexpected tasks that may occur. Agencies and units that do not have a fixed holiday schedule on Saturdays and Sundays every week must, based on the specific program and plan of the unit, arrange a suitable holiday schedule in accordance with the provisions of law;
(3) Encourage employers at enterprises to apply holiday time off for Victory Day, April 30, and International Labor Day, May 1, 2024, for employees as prescribed for civil servants and employees but ensure full implementation of benefits for employees according to the provisions of law, and encourage agreements that are more beneficial to employees.
Thus, on the occasion of Victory Day, April 30, and International Labor Day, May 1, 2024, civil servants and public employees will have 5 consecutive days off from Saturday, April 27, 2024 to Wednesday, April 1, 2024. May 2024 (make up work on Saturday, May 4, 2024).
