On September 30, 2024, the Ministry of Health issued Decision 2899/QĐ-BYT approving the project "Consultation and Provision of Reproductive Health Care Services for Workers in Industrial Zones and Export Processing Zones from 2024 to 2030."

Accordingly, Decision 2899/QĐ-BYT stipulates:
- Project implementation period: From 2024 to the end of 2030.
- Beneficiaries of the project: Workers in industrial zones and export processing zones.
- Target groups affected by the project:
- Party committees, local governments, and employers in industrial zones and export processing zones.
- Health staff and trade unions at local levels with industrial zones and export processing zones.
- Specific goals of the project are as follows:
First, enhance the commitment of policymakers, local authorities, trade unions, and stakeholders to create a favorable environment for health care and reproductive health care for workers..
Thứ hai, Second, enhance the social responsibility of businesses in industrial zones and export processing zones in developing and implementing policies for reproductive health care for workers.
Third, improve the capacity of the health system to provide reproductive health care services that are suitable for the living conditions and working hours of workers in industrial zones and export processing zones.
Fourth, raise awareness and enhance access for workers in industrial zones and export processing zones to appropriate reproductive and sexual health care services.
- Implementation solutions for the project: The project will focus on the following key solutions:
- Strengthening communication and policy advocacy;;
- Enhancing the capacity of health workers in communication, consultation, and provision of reproductive health care services for workers;
- Communicating, consulting, and providing reproductive health care services in line with the living conditions and working hours of workers in industrial zones and export processing zones;
- Building pilot models and scaling them up.
- Organization of implementation:: The Department of Health assigns the provincial or city Centers for Disease Control (or equivalent units) to:
- Act as the coordinating body among stakeholders to organize activities for resource mobilization, policy development, and communication activities combined with the provision of reproductive health care services for workers in the province or city, ensuring effectiveness and avoiding overlaps.
- Collaborate with trade unions at all levels and management boards of industrial zones and export processing zones to promote, guide, and help representatives of employers and trade union representatives in enterprises develop policies for reproductive health care for workers in collective labor agreements.
Thus, the overall goal of the project "Consultation and Provision of Reproductive Health Care Services for Workers in Industrial Zones and Export Processing Zones from 2024 to 2030" is to improve health, reduce the incidence of reproductive health and sexual health issues among workers in industrial zones and export processing zones, contributing to increased labor productivity for businesses.
