On November 22nd, 2023, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs issued Notification 5015/TB-LĐTBXH of 2023 regarding the National Day holiday in 2024, leading to changes in the September 2024 pension payment schedule for employees.

Pursuant to Clause 4, Article 7 of the Procedures for Implementing Decision 166/QD-BHXH of 2019 issued by the Vietnam Social Security (VSS) on procedures for handling social insurance benefits, it is stipulated as follows:
“Payment and settlement
…
4. Monthly social insurance benefit payment
4.1. Responsibilities of the Examination and Customer Support Department
4.1.1. Receive C72a-HD list from the Social Insurance Regime Department; receive C12-TS Notification (issued pursuant to Decision No. 595/QD-BHXH) from the Revenue Management Department; receive Request Form No. 3-CBH from the Result Processing Department; transfer C72a-HD list to the Provincial Post Office and the Examination and Customer Support Department.
4.1.2. Payment to beneficiaries: Based on Request Form No. 3-CBH and cross-checking with existing data, make immediate payments to beneficiaries of deceased pensioners for the remaining months of unpaid pensions or social insurance benefits.
4.1.3. Transfer funds to the Provincial Post Office
a) Four days prior to the scheduled payment date, advance payment equal to the amount settled in the previous month.
b) On the 1st of each month, reconcile and offset any remaining social insurance payment transferred to the post office in the previous month on Payment Schedule No. C74a-HD with List C72a-HD to transfer the remaining funds.
c) Issue Notification No. 1-CBH to inform the district-level Social Insurance Agency of the amount of funds transferred by the provincial Social Insurance Agency to the Provincial Post Office for payment to beneficiaries in the district.
4.1.4. Organize monthly payment of pensions and social insurance benefits to beneficiaries through the postal system in accordance with the signed contract.
a) Payment at payment points: From the 2nd to the 10th of each month, payment is made for at least 6 hours per day at all payment points; payment may be completed before the 10th at points where all beneficiaries on the list provided by the social insurance agency have been paid.
b) Payment at district post office transaction points: From the 11th of the month, payment continues at post office transaction points until the 25th of the month.

As a result, pensions will be paid from the 2nd to the 10th of each month, and at post office branches from the 11th to the 25th.
However, according to Notification 5015/TB-LĐTBXH of 2023 issued by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, officials and employees will have a National Day holiday from Saturday, August 31st, 2024 to Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024. Therefore, the September 2024 pension payment schedule will coincide with the National Day holiday on September 2nd, 2024, resulting in a delay of the September 2024 pension payment, which is expected to be made from September 4th, 2024.
The specific payment schedule for September 2024 pensions in each province and city will be announced by the local social insurance agencies to pensioners.
