Recently, the situation of the COVID-19 epidemic in Vietnam has complicated new developments, increasing the number of cases with the appearance of many new variant cases BA.04, BA.05 ... In Official Letter No. 3896/BYT-DP dated July 22, 2022 on increasing the deployment of vaccination against COVID-19, the Ministry of Health continues to emphasize that vaccination against COVID-19 is an effective and strategically significant measure in disease prevention and control.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Health has issued guidance, adjustments and clarifications on how to determine the covid-19 vaccination periods for subjects immediately after sufficient time, specifically as follows:

- Injection 3:
+ People over 18 years old: Inject immediately after the 2nd shot is three months; people who have had COVID-19 should get the shot immediately after they recover.
+ People from 12 to under 18 years old: Inject immediately after the 2nd shot is five months; people who have had COVID-19 get the shot immediately after recovering from the disease for three months.
- Injection 4:
+ Injection immediately after the 3rd injection four months; people who have had COVID-19 should get the shot immediately after recovering from the disease for three months;
+ Inject children from 5 to under 12 years old: children who have had COVID-19 will be vaccinated immediately after recovering from the disease for three months.

In addition, regarding the urgency of this guidance, the Ministry of Health also stated that there are full professional guidelines on vaccination against COVID-19, but recently there has been inaccurate information about how to name shots. In order to unify and further strengthen the implementation of vaccination against COVID-19, rapidly increase the coverage rate of vaccine shots for target groups, especially children from 5 to under 12 years old and those at high risk, ensuring safety and flexible adaptation in all possible new epidemic developments.
